When Fried Eggs Fly: (Another old blog I found)

When Fried Eggs Fly Current mood: discontent Category: Life
Of course like usual, I'm up way too late, or for some way too early...As per my usual course of action, I end up watching some obscure program on tv...This time in the middle, which is normally where I find programs, and I say the middle because these programs normally are never viewed again by me so I really can't discern the realistic placement of my viewing session....This time I saw a segment of video recording called "When Fried Eggs Fly"....

This Segment was about one individual teaching young students in a NYC school, P.S. 3 matter of fact, to learn how to play and compose music essentially....Through this process he achieves and accomplishes so many things that I commend him for, one being the ability to get children in the elementary stages of their fundamental learning to sit still....Another is to get these said students to sing in harmony, sing in Harmonious melody as well as syncapated time....It's funny because what it made me think of was work....These students were asked if he was mean or too strict....They were asked if his form of discipline was too harsh....With resounding and coherrent thought, each of the students interviewed said that it was neccessary to keep that discipline and to keep that regimented routine he implemented....At age 7 these children in New York city new more about what is necessary to achieve greatness than most coworkers I have at my current Job.....It's really sad but true in all honesty....Honestly, I was amazed at how well developed these children were for their age group...They understood simple concepts but could explain them in complex formats....One student went as far as to say at the end of his statement "after all, he knows better what he's doing than we do...."....if only people in the Casino trusted their bosses to show them the right path so freely....Better yet, if only my students aka my waitresses and cooks would understand that as a Sous Chef I am there to train them and teach them to work in accordance with the proper guidelines for a Great Dining Experience...What happens between 7 and 19-22? What happens between 1st grade and College that people think they know more than their superiors? It's a grevious wrong I tell you....Sometimes I feel like we are recieving a bunch of fried eggs that will never amount to what they want out of life because they don't have the forsight to allow someone of a learned station to teach them....They aren't that trusting or that understanding of what their role is.....One of my catch phrases that I use quite often is "Put down the excuses and pick up a Purpose"....another is "what you produce is an extention of who you are....Make sure it comes out to be what you want representing yourself".......These 7 year olds understood that, even their parents who joined in on the singing understood it, I just wish our employees sometimes would learn more...then again, Not all of the managers in our venue nor in our Casino are of the same mindset as my catch phrases...."Attitude reflects Leadership", yet another one of my catch phrases....and honestly other than myself and a few other low-end-of-the-totum-pole managers, Management isn't doing enough to supply the right attitude or discipline to these students....these employees are our students...We need to as a collective teach these kids the proper message....We need to be unified, and not just a few voices amongst the def.....
